As part of a unit on flight, LWAS Biddeford students visited Andy’s Farm & Garden to watch the pumpkin catapult. They also used everyday materials to make simple machines and rockets. The Intermediate School students took a field trip to City Hall to learn about local government and visit the City Theater with Biddeford Mayor Grohman.
LWAS Portland enjoyed a recent sing-along session with instructors from 317 Main Community Music Center. They have been working on leadership and using kind words. They completed a variety of art projects, including self portraits, paper lanterns, and origami cranes.
LWAS Saco students have learned about trees and leaves. They did a mindfulness lesson on thankfulness and a corresponding art project. As they explore American history, they had a chance to make historical objects and toys from everyday materials.
LWAS Waterboro students have been enjoying enrichment clubs. Students are able to pick from a number of different options including role play games, crochet, building challenges, and more. These clubs are designed for students to explore unique interests that they may not be able to pursue at school or home.
