LWAS Biddeford had a busy month covering a variety of different topics such as geography, flight, and fire safety. They enjoyed a visit to the McArthur Public Library and hosted a Lights on Afterschool celebration that highlights the contributions of afterschool programs nationally.
LWAS Portland students have been creating a magazine, practicing their writing and design skills as they share their unique voices. They have also explored team building, nature art, and coding.
This past month, LWAS Saco focused on scientists and the tools they use. They also did apple themed activities – weighing, measuring, and exploring. They culminated this unit by making homemade applesauce.
LWAS Waterboro started using a new STEAM program called Go2Science. Students are currently taking on the role of paleontologists. They are learning about fossils discovered in Wyoming and trying to determine if dinosaurs lived there.
