Tom McLaughlin Chosen as New Executive Director of LearningWorks
LearningWorks is thrilled to announce that Tom McLaughlin has been chosen as the agency’s new Executive Director. Having conducted a nationwide search led by Starboard Leadership Consulting, the Board of Directors selected McLaughlin to assume leadership of LearningWorks.
“Tom will be a wonderful asset to LearningWorks,” shares Eben Jose, the Chair of LearningWorks’ Board of Directors. “He has spent decades working in all aspects of education. His experience along with his positive energy and passion for helping underserved students will be assets to the LearningWorks community for years to come.”
McLaughlin has successfully served as a K-12 teacher and administrator for more than three decades. He earned his B.A. at Benedictine College and completed his graduate work at Boston College. He has led schools in several states. He also has extensive experience as a consultant and facilitator with a variety of non-profits, faith communities, and schools. He will draw heavily on his expertise in curricular and program development, fundraising, community relations, and financial and human resource management in his role. After spending time in Maine for the past thirty years, McLaughlin is thrilled about living near his family in the Portland area.

McLaughlin will succeed Leslie Tremberth who has served as Interim Executive Director since January. He will formally assume his duties on July 1st.
