Please join the staff of LearningWorks and our special guest speakers to learn how Southern Maine nonprofits are leveraging technology to help adult New Mainers learn English and stay on track with their goals during this time of remote learning.

Panelists:
- Rachel Evenson: Rachel directs LearningWorks’ English Language + Literacy Program, which provides 1:1 tutoring and group instruction to adult New Mainers. She teaches English to Speakers of Other Languages at Portland Adult Education and recently completed a Graduate Certificate in teaching ESOL at USM.
- Shima Kabarigi: Shima is the interim executive director of the Immigrant Welcome Center, which offers the iEnglish project, a digital literacy program that integrates English language learning with technology. This program is designed for adult immigrants. welcomeimmigrant.org
- Damas Rugaba: Damas is an immigrant from Rwanda and a Co-Founder of the Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center. He is a lead consultant on operations with the IWC. welcomeimmigrant.org
